A theatrical Halloween punch with neon green color and low-lying dry ice fog that crawls across the tabletop. This easy, crowd-pleasing drink is sweet, fruity, and visually stunning—perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz lemonade concentrate, thawed
  • 12 oz limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 2 cups pineapple juice
  • 4 cups green sports drink (e.g., Mountain Dew or neon green electrolyte drink)
  • 4 cups lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite or 7Up), chilled
  • 2 cups water
  • 34 drops green food coloring (optional)
  • 23 pounds dry ice
  • Ice cubes (regular, for dilution control)
  • Gummy worms or plastic spiders (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the punch base: In a large pitcher, combine thawed lemonade concentrate, thawed limeade concentrate, pineapple juice, green sports drink, and water. Stir until fully mixed. If color is not vibrant neon green, add 2-3 drops green food coloring. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 24 hours ahead.
  2. Chill everything: Chill the punch base and lemon-lime soda separately for at least 2 hours before serving. Cold ingredients are crucial for proper dry ice fog effect.
  3. Prepare the dry ice: Just before serving, put on thick gloves or use tongs. Remove dry ice from packaging and place on a thick kitchen towel. Fold towel over dry ice and use a hammer or meat mallet to break into golf ball-sized pieces. Work quickly as dry ice sublimates fast.
  4. Assemble the punch bowl: Pour chilled punch base into a large punch bowl. Add chilled lemon-lime soda and stir gently. Add regular ice cubes to keep everything cold.
  5. Add the dry ice: Immediately before guests arrive, use tongs to carefully lower 4-5 pieces of crushed dry ice into the punch. Do not drop from high up to avoid splashing.
  6. Let the fog roll: Within 30 seconds, thick white fog will pour over the sides. Do not stir the punch after adding dry ice—stirring speeds up sublimation.
  7. Serve and maintain: Ladle punch into cups from the top to avoid scooping dry ice pieces. Replenish dry ice every 20-30 minutes by adding 2-3 new pieces.
  8. Safety check: Ensure no dry ice pieces end up in anyone’s cup. For kids, use a slotted ladle or pour through a strainer.

Notes

Add dry ice right when guests arrive for maximum visual impact. Chill all ingredients thoroughly—warm punch causes dry ice to sublimate too quickly. Crush dry ice into golf ball-sized pieces for steady fog. Never touch dry ice with bare hands; use tongs or thick gloves. Position punch bowl on an elevated surface so guests can see fog pooling at the base. For alcoholic version, add 2 cups vodka, white rum, or citrus spirits. Punch base (without soda and dry ice) can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
