  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture on low speed, mixing only until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop dough balls (about 2 tablespoons each) onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden brown but centers still look slightly underbaked.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for best results. Do not overmix the dough to avoid tough cookies. For chewy cookies, underbake slightly; for crispy cookies, bake for 12-13 minutes. Dough can be frozen for later use.
