These no-bake Oreo truffle spiders are a quick, spooky Halloween treat made with cream cheese, chocolate, and crushed cookies. They are easy to make, visually striking, and perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 block (8 ounces) full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 package (about 14 cookies) original Oreos
  • 1 roll black licorice twists
  • White chocolate or candy melts (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Stir in heavy cream and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Remove cream filling from Oreos. Pulse cookie wafers in a food processor or crush in a ziplock bag with a rolling pin until fine crumbs. Pour into a shallow bowl.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes to firm up.
  5. Roll the chilled mixture into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in crushed Oreos to coat. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for another 15 minutes.
  6. Cut black licorice into eight equal pieces. Press four pieces into each side of the chilled truffles to form spider legs.
  7. Melt white chocolate or candy melts. Pipe two small dots onto the top of each spider for eyes.
  8. Refrigerate assembled spiders for 10 minutes to set before serving.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature to avoid lumps. Do not skip the chilling steps as they are crucial for texture and handling. If licorice is too stiff, microwave briefly to soften. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
