A quick and easy 5-ingredient recipe for flavorful honey mustard grilled salmon skewers, perfect for busy weeknights or outdoor gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450g) salmon fillets, skin removed and cut into 1-inch chunks
  • Β½ cup (120ml) honey mustard sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 68 wooden or metal skewers (soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before use)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together Β½ cup honey mustard sauce, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Remove skin from salmon if needed and cut into roughly 1-inch cubes.
  3. Gently toss the salmon chunks in the honey mustard marinade, coating each piece well. Cover and refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes.
  4. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes. Thread 3-4 salmon chunks onto each skewer, leaving space between pieces.
  5. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat (375-400Β°F). Brush grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.
  6. Grill the salmon skewers for about 3-4 minutes per side, turning once, until salmon is opaque and flakes easily but remains moist inside.
  7. Remove from grill, optionally squeeze extra lemon juice over the top, and serve immediately.

Notes

Do not marinate salmon for longer than 30 minutes to avoid the lemon juice ‘cooking’ the fish. Soak wooden skewers for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning. Avoid overcrowding the grill for even cooking. Use fresh or fully thawed salmon for best results. For indoor cooking, bake skewers at 400Β°F for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway.
