A quick and easy Halloween snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough with melted cheddar cheese and sesame seed eyes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4–6 standard beef or turkey hot dogs
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 large egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (for eyes)
  • Butter, melted (optional, for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C) and place a rack in the center.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and press seams together.
  4. Cut the dough into strips approximately 1 inch wide.
  5. Trim hot dogs if necessary to fit the dough strips.
  6. Place a hot dog at the top of a dough strip and wrap tightly, leaving a small gap at the top for eyes.
  7. Optionally stuff a pinch of cheddar cheese inside the wrap or place it on top.
  8. Brush the dough with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds on the exposed hot dog to form eyes.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the dough is golden brown.
  10. Cool for 2-3 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Ensure the oven is at the correct temperature to prevent burning. Do not overcrowd the pan to allow for proper air circulation. If cheese leaks, ensure the wrap is snug. Can be frozen unbaked for later use.
