A quick and simple recipe for grilled peaches that caramelizes their natural sugars, creating a tender, smoky, and sweet summer dessert perfect for gatherings or last-minute cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe but firm peaches, halved and pitted
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter or coconut oil (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat (around 375°F / 190°C).
  2. Rinse the peaches, then carefully halve and pit them using a sharp knife.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Add vanilla extract if using.
  4. Lightly brush the cut sides of the peaches with melted butter or coconut oil.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the cut side of each peach half.
  6. Place the peaches cut side down on the grill grates. Grill for about 3-4 minutes until grill marks appear and sugar starts to caramelize.
  7. Flip the peaches gently using tongs or a spatula and grill the skin side for another 2-3 minutes until tender but still holding shape.
  8. Transfer the peaches to a serving plate and drizzle with fresh lemon juice just before serving.

Notes

Choose firm but ripe peaches to hold their shape on the grill. Avoid overcrowding the grill to ensure even cooking. Use medium-high heat for proper caramelization. If peaches are extra ripe, reduce grilling time to avoid mushiness. Let peaches rest a minute after grilling to allow juices to redistribute. For a dairy-free version, use coconut oil instead of butter. If no grill is available, roast peaches at 400°F for 10-12 minutes or use a cast-iron skillet.
