These no-bake peanut butter protein energy balls are the perfect grab-and-go snack, made with simple pantry ingredients. They’re chewy, satisfying, and packed with protein to keep you fueled all week long.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) old-fashioned rolled oats
  • Β½ cup (130g) natural peanut butter
  • ΒΌ cup (85g) honey or maple syrup
  • ΒΌ cup (30g) vanilla protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons (14g) ground flaxseed
  • ΒΌ cup (45g) mini chocolate chips
  • ΒΌ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1–2 tablespoons warm water, as needed

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet or large plate with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, protein powder, and ground flaxseed. Whisk until evenly distributed.
  3. Add the peanut butter, honey (or maple syrup), sea salt, and mini chocolate chips to the bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of warm water.
  4. Stir with a spatula, folding the wet ingredients into the dry, until a cohesive dough forms. If too crumbly, add another Β½ tablespoon of warm water and mix again.
  5. Squeeze a small amount of the mixture in your fist. It should hold together without crumbling. If it falls apart, add more warm water 1 teaspoon at a time.
  6. Wet your hands slightly with water. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll into a smooth ball. Place on the parchment-lined sheet. Repeat until all mixture is used (about 14-16 balls).
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (preferably 1 hour) to set. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Notes

The warm water trick helps the mixture come together perfectly. Wet hands make rolling easier. Chill before judging flavor and texture. For best results, use fresh oats and natural peanut butter. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
