All the creamy, spicy, tangy goodness of classic buffalo chicken dip, wrapped up in a golden, flaky crescent roll shell and baked into adorable little football shapes. They take about 20 minutes from start to finish, making them perfect for game day or any party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (12.4 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 cans (10 oz each) chunk chicken breast, drained
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • Optional garnishes: everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, or poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the drained canned chicken, softened cream cheese, buffalo wing sauce, shredded cheddar, crumbled blue cheese (if using), and 2 tablespoons of ranch or blue cheese dressing. Stir until well combined and creamy.
  3. Open one can of crescent rolls and unroll the dough. Separate it along the perforated lines into 8 triangles.
  4. Take one triangle of dough and place it on a clean work surface with the wide end facing you. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the buffalo chicken filling onto the center of the triangle. Fold the two long sides over the filling, overlapping slightly. Pinch the two pointed ends together to form an oval football shape. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining dough and filling.
  5. Optional: Use a sharp knife to make a small slit or two on top of each bite to resemble football laces. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning if desired.
  6. In a small bowl, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Lightly brush the top of each football-shaped bite with the melted butter.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool on the pan for 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm with extra ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Notes

Keep the dough cold to prevent sticking. Don’t overfill the bites to avoid leakage. Seal the seams well. Use parchment paper for easy cleanup. Can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerated. Can be frozen unbaked for up to 2 months.
