A quick and indulgent no-bake dessert dip made with cream cheese, caramel, and fresh apples. Perfect for potlucks, parties, or a simple weeknight treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • ¼ cup caramel sauce, warmed slightly for drizzling
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 45 medium apples, sliced (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith recommended)
  • Optional: graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or pretzels for dipping

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese: Take your cream cheese out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before starting. If in a hurry, cut into cubes and microwave on low power for 15-20 seconds until soft but not melted.
  2. Beat the cream cheese: Place softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl. Beat with a hand mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until completely smooth and fluffy. Scrape down sides and bottom of bowl halfway through.
  3. Add the sugar and vanilla: Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Beat on low speed first to avoid flying sugar, then increase to medium and beat for 1-2 minutes until fully incorporated and light.
  4. Mix in the sour cream: Add sour cream and beat on medium speed for 30 seconds until combined.
  5. Fold in the caramel: Add ½ cup caramel sauce to the cream cheese mixture. Fold gently with a spatula until ribbons of caramel remain—do not overmix.
  6. Transfer to serving dish: Use spatula to scrape mixture into a shallow serving dish or pie plate. Spread into an even layer.
  7. Add the toppings: Drizzle remaining ¼ cup warmed caramel sauce over the top. Sprinkle toasted pecans or walnuts evenly. Finish with a light dusting of cinnamon and a pinch of flaky sea salt.
  8. Prep the apples: Core apples and slice into ¼-inch thick rounds or wedges. If not serving immediately, toss in a bowl with 1 tablespoon lemon juice and enough water to cover to prevent browning. Drain and pat dry before serving.
  9. Chill (optional but recommended): Refrigerate dip for 15-20 minutes before serving to let flavors meld and firm up slightly. Serve immediately if in a rush.

Notes

For best texture, use full-fat cream cheese and let it come to room temperature. The dip can be made up to 2 days ahead; add toppings just before serving. Leftovers keep in the fridge for 5-7 days. The dip tastes even better the next day as flavors meld.
