A simple yet elegant charcuterie board designed for two, featuring a balance of creamy cheese, salty cured meats, tangy pickles, and sweet fruit. Perfect for a romantic date night at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz soft cheese (brie or camembert)
  • 4 oz hard cheese (aged cheddar, gouda, or manchego)
  • 4 oz prosciutto (thinly sliced, about 6–8 slices)
  • 4 oz salami (genoa or soppressata)
  • 1/4 cup cornichons or small pickles
  • 1/4 cup olives (kalamata or castelvetrano)
  • 1/4 cup nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit (figs, apricots, or dates)
  • 1/4 cup fresh fruit (grapes, sliced apple, or fresh figs)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 small baguette or crackers (about 6–8 ounces)

Instructions

  1. Take the cheese out of the fridge 20-30 minutes before serving to bring to room temperature.
  2. Wash and dry the fresh fruit. If using apple, slice thinly and toss with lemon juice to prevent browning. If using fresh figs, cut in half lengthwise.
  3. Slice the baguette on a diagonal into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
  4. Gently separate prosciutto slices and drape loosely on the board. Fold salami slices in half, then in half again to form triangles, and stand them up on the board.
  5. Cut hard cheese into small cubes or thin slices. Leave brie whole or cut into wedges. Place both cheeses on the board, leaving space between them.
  6. Spoon olives and cornichons into small bowls and place on the board. Scatter nuts and dried fruit in small piles. Drizzle honey over the brie or in a small pool on the board.
  7. Arrange baguette slices or crackers around the edges, filling in empty spaces. The board should look abundant but not crowded.
  8. Add any final touches like fresh herbs for color. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best flavor, serve cheese at room temperature. Don’t overcrowd the board; leave about 20% visible. Fold meats for texture. Arrange complementary flavors near each other. Prep all ingredients before assembling.
