A cozy, quick-to-make autumn cocktail featuring apple cider and dry sparkling wine, finished with a warm cinnamon sugar rim for a festive touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) apple cider (cloudy, unfiltered preferred)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) dry sparkling wine or champagne (Brut)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 lemon or lime wedge
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon on a small plate using a 2:1 ratio until evenly combined.
  2. Run the lemon or lime wedge around the outer rim of a champagne flute or coupe glass to moisten it.
  3. Invert the glass and press the moistened rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture, twisting gently for an even coating. Tap off excess sugar.
  4. Pour the apple cider into the prepared glass, filling it halfway.
  5. Top with the dry sparkling wine to prevent overflow.
  6. Stir gently with a spoon to combine, being careful not to lose carbonation.
  7. Add ice cubes if desired, garnish with an apple slice or cinnamon stick, and serve immediately.

Notes

Chill ingredients beforehand for the best experience. Make the drink immediately before serving to preserve carbonation. For a group, prepare the cinnamon sugar rims ahead of time and store in an airtight container. Use dry sparkling wine to balance the sweetness of the cider.
