apple cider margarita - featured image

A simple, cozy fall cocktail made with tequila, apple cider, and a cinnamon sugar rim. This drink captures the essence of autumn with warm spices and sweet apple flavors, requiring minimal ingredients and effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) Tequila Blanco
  • 4 ounces (120 ml) Apple Cider
  • 0.5 ounce (15 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • Ice
  • Lime wedge (for rimming)
  • Cinnamon stick (for garnish)
  • Thin apple slice (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon on a small plate until evenly distributed.
  2. Rub a lime wedge around the outer rim of a margarita or rocks glass to wet it.
  3. Invert the glass and press the wet rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture, twisting gently for an even coating. Shake off excess sugar.
  4. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice.
  5. Pour the tequila over the ice.
  6. Slowly pour the apple cider over the tequila, then add the fresh lime juice.
  7. Stir gently with a bar spoon for about 10 seconds.
  8. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a thin apple slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the best experience, chill your glass in the freezer for 15 minutes before starting. Use fresh, unpasteurized cider for richer flavor. If the cider is very sweet, add more lime juice; if tart, add simple syrup. For a non-alcoholic version, swap tequila for extra cider or ginger ale. For a spicy kick, muddle jalapeΓ±o slices. For a whiskey swap, use bourbon instead of tequila.
