A simple and elegant summer aperitivo board for two featuring creamy burrata, salty prosciutto, marinated olives, fresh cherry tomatoes, and artisan crackers. Perfect for light, fresh, and fuss-free summer evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz (115 g) Prosciutto di Parma, thinly sliced
  • 1 ball (8 oz / 225 g) Burrata cheese
  • 1/2 cup (75 g) Marinated olives, mixed green and black, pitted
  • About 12 pieces Artisan crackers or toasted baguette slices
  • 1 cup (150 g) Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • A handful Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Sea salt flakes (optional), to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients (10 minutes): Rinse cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves under cool water. Pat dry gently with paper towels to avoid excess moisture on the board.
  2. Slice the burrata and prosciutto (5 minutes): Using a sharp knife, carefully slice the burrata ball into two or three portions for easy sharing. Separate the prosciutto slices gently so they stay intact but are easy to pick up.
  3. Arrange the board (5 minutes): On your serving board, place the burrata pieces spaced apart. Lay the prosciutto slices nearby, folding them loosely to create volume and visual appeal.
  4. Add the extras (5 minutes): Fill small bowls with marinated olives and place them on the board. Scatter halved cherry tomatoes and basil leaves around the cheese and meat, balancing colors and shapes.
  5. Include the crackers: Arrange artisan crackers or toasted baguette slices in small stacks or fanned out for easy grabbing.
  6. Drizzle olive oil and season: Lightly drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the burrata and tomatoes. Finish with a pinch of freshly ground black pepper and sea salt flakes if desired.
  7. Final touches and serving: Let the board sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving so flavors meld and burrata softens slightly for the creamiest experience.

Notes

Use the freshest burrata possible for best texture and flavor. Slice burrata gently to avoid spilling the creamy center. Freeze prosciutto for 30 minutes if you need thinner slices. Assemble the board close to serving time to keep crackers crisp and burrata fresh. Keep burrata chilled until last moment if worried about leaking. Variations include swapping prosciutto for grilled vegetables for a vegetarian option, or using gluten-free crackers for gluten-free diets.
