Ingredients

  • Manchego cheese, sliced
  • Prosciutto di Parma, thinly sliced
  • Marcona almonds
  • Green olives stuffed with garlic (Castelvetrano if possible)
  • Pickled ginger slices
  • Roasted seaweed snacks
  • Edamame pods, steamed and lightly salted
  • Honey-lime dipping sauce (2 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon lime juice, pinch of chili flakes)
  • Chorizo slices (mild or spicy)
  • Dried mango strips
  • Queso fresco cubes
  • Jalapeño slices, fresh or pickled (optional)
  • Hummus, store-bought or homemade
  • Pita chips or warm pita bread wedges
  • Stuffed grape leaves (dolmas), ready to eat
  • Za’atar spice blend
  • Fresh grapes or berries
  • Assorted crackers or breadsticks
  • Fresh herbs like mint or basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice cheeses and meats into bite-sized pieces or strips. Thin wedges work best for Manchego. Wash and pat dry fresh grapes or berries.
  2. Place small bowls or ramekins on your board for dips, olives, nuts, and pickled items to keep the board neat.
  3. Position cheeses and meats first, spreading them out across the board in clusters by region to guide tasting.
  4. Fill empty spaces with crackers, pita chips, and fresh fruit. Layer textures by stacking pita chips lightly to create height.
  5. Sprinkle fresh herbs and a pinch of za’atar over the hummus. Drizzle honey-lime sauce into a small bowl for dipping. Add edible flowers if desired.
  6. Serve the board at room temperature by removing cold items from the fridge 15-20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Prep ingredients the night before and assemble just before guests arrive for freshness. Serve cheeses and meats at room temperature for best flavor. Use ramekins for dips to avoid mess. For gluten-free, swap pita chips for gluten-free crackers. Add personal twists like smoked salmon or seasonal fruit swaps.
