A quick and impressive chocolate-dipped fruit tower bouquet that’s perfect for parties and gatherings, combining fresh fruit and glossy chocolate in a fun, visually stunning centerpiece.

Ingredients

  • Strawberries, washed and hulled (large size preferred for easy dipping)
  • Bananas, sliced into thick rounds (just ripe, not mushy)
  • Pineapple chunks, fresh or canned in juice (drain well)
  • Green grapes, washed and dried (seedless)
  • Apple slices, peeled or unpeeled (tossed lightly in lemon juice to prevent browning)
  • Dark chocolate (60-70% cocoa) for dipping
  • White chocolate (optional, can mix or use separately)
  • Chopped nuts (like pistachios or almonds) for decoration
  • Shredded coconut (unsweetened) for decoration
  • Edible flowers (optional)
  • Wooden skewers (medium thickness, sturdy enough to hold fruit)
  • Floral foam or sturdy base for the tower (e.g., Styrofoam block wrapped in foil)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your fruit: Wash and dry all fruit thoroughly. Hull strawberries, slice bananas and apples, and cut pineapple into bite-sized chunks. Toss apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning. This takes about 10 minutes.
  2. Set up your workspace: Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper. Arrange skewers and place your foam block on a stable surface for building the bouquet.
  3. Melt the chocolate: Using a double boiler or microwave, melt the chocolate slowly, stirring frequently until smooth and glossy (5-7 minutes). Melt white chocolate separately if using.
  4. Dip the fruit: Hold each fruit piece by the skewer and dip halfway or fully into melted chocolate. Allow excess to drip off gently. Optionally, dip half the fruit in dark chocolate and half in white chocolate. Place dipped fruit on parchment-lined tray. Sprinkle nuts or coconut immediately after dipping if desired.
  5. Let the chocolate set: Refrigerate dipped fruit for about 15 minutes until chocolate firms up.
  6. Assemble the fruit tower bouquet: Insert skewers into the foam block, arranging fruit colors and shapes. Start with larger fruit at the base for stability and build upward with smaller pieces. Rotate foam for even shape. This takes about 15 minutes.
  7. Add finishing touches: Tuck edible flowers or small fruit pieces into gaps. Adjust shape as needed.
  8. Serve immediately or chill: Best served fresh or covered lightly and refrigerated up to 4 hours before serving.

Notes

Dry fruit thoroughly before dipping to ensure chocolate sticks well. Melt chocolate slowly and stir frequently to avoid burning. Chill dipped fruit to set chocolate before assembly. Use sturdy skewers and larger fruit at the base for stability. For dairy-free version, use vegan chocolate. Avoid nut toppings if allergies are a concern.
